Hammonton Lake Information
Location: Hammonton, NJ. Atlantic County
Size: 75 acres
Depth: Mean depth 5 feet.
Ramp and Parking: Has two ramps next to one another. The one closest to the lake has a good incline, but a severe drop-off where the concrete ends. The one farther from the lake is useless for launching boats. Has adequate parking near the ramps.
Motor limits: Electric trolling motors only.
Comments: Shallow throughout most of the lake, but there are a few areas as deep as 10 feet in the main creek channel.
Has a number of coves, points and 'fingers' that branch off the main lake. There is a public beach at the lake, but it is closed (as of 2003) due to problems with the water quality.
Need for Morning Quiet?: Yes
Directions: From the south/west: Take Rt 40 or Rt 322 to Rt 54 North. Follow Route 54 north into Hammonton. You will come to a traffic light in downtown Hammonton where railroad tracks cross Rt 54. Turn left onto Park Drive. Proceed on Park Drive for one block to Sports Drive on the right. Turn right onto Sports Drive. Follow Sports Drive through the park to the boat ramp area.
